We are pleased to announce that Astronomy Cast has signed on to sail with us out of Miami!
Astronomy Cast is a weekly astronomy podcast hosted by Dr. Pamela Gay and Fraser Cain. With 50,000 listeners, it’s one of the most popular science podcasts on the internet, nominated for several Parsec awards. With more than 250 topical and Q&A episodes available online, they have created a virtual cosmic academy for anyone with an internet connection.
Pamela and Frasier will be hosting coffee chats and will podcast live from the Pearl. Their websites can be found at: starstryder.com and universetoday.com.
The Raisa Explorers have signed on to sail with the Norwegian Pearl, in order to provide Starfleet’s expertise in both exploration and partying, just as they do on the resort planet of Raisa! We will substitute beautiful Caribbean locations for Suraya Bay, and you’ll have to bring your own horga’hn, but otherwise it’ll be just as on Raisa. We’ll have activities, science briefings, away team missions, alien encounters, and plenty of time to relax and party.
The Raisa Explorers will be our cruise’s Star Trek/media SF group coordinated by Science Officer Inge Heyer. We are eagerly looking for both experienced officers and new recruits to join the away team!
We are also pleased to announce that the Tampa Pirates have signed on to set sail with the Norwegian Pearl!
The Tampa Pirates are an ad hoc group of weekend pirates led by Captain Paula Luce.
